BSC-DREAM8b Atmospheric Dust Forecast System

Welcome to the operational Web site of the Dust REgional Atmospheric Model (DREAM) (Nickovic et al. 2001) in the Earth Sciences Division of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS). The model predicts the atmospheric life cycle of the eroded desert dust and was developed as a pluggable component of the NCEP/ETA model. Since May 2009, BSC-DREAM8b (Pérez et al. 2006a, Pérez et al. 2006b) provides the operational dust forecast at BSC-CNS. Its main improved features include a more detailed size bin distribution and the inclusion of dust-radiation interactions.
