Cluster management software and introduction to infiniband technology (Barcelona, May 2011)
The RES (Spanish Supercomputing Network) coordinated by BSC organized the Technical Training Cluster management software and introduction to Infiniband the
3rd and 4th May 2011 in Barcelona.
For each cluster management software were presented its main features, e.g. massive deployment of nodes (supported methodologies, diskles...), dynamic modifications and updates in the operating systems of the nodes, management of nodes (start / stop / get console...) and monitoring services.
Regarding Infiniband technology was provided a basic introduction to its operation and advantages.

The seminar was quite specialized and aimed at all the RES nodes tecnhical teams, all staff part of an HPC center and also any unversity or administrators of a clutser mainly focused in providing supercomputing services. The more than 50 attendats proved the interest on such
tecnhologies.
