Organization
The main BSC-CNS Governance Boards are the following ones: Board of Trustees formed by members of the three institutions that are partners of the BSC-CNS Consortium: Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia, Departament d’Educació i Universitats de la Generalitat de Catalunya and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. With the aim to follow up and execute all activities of BSC-CNS, the Executive Commission was constituted. Furthermore, the BSC-CNS is headed by a director named by the Board of Trustees. The decision about the scientific use of MareNostrum is taken over by the Access Committee, formed by prestigious Spanish scientists external to the BSC-CNS.
BSC-CNS has a main Scientific Structure and a Support Structure providing support to all BSC staff and scientists, to the external scientific community and other institutions. The figure below describes the different areas and departments that constitute the formal organization chart:
BSC counts with 140 highly qualified staff members constituted by 80% of multidisciplinar scientific staff and 20% of support staff. Please find below a picture of the complete team at the Torre Girona chapel where the MareNostrum is located.
